I am the news editor for The Fordham Ram, Fordham University's official journal of record. Aside from my tasks as an editor, I also write multiple articles each week on various topics ranging from campus events, new administrator profiles, university updates and more. "Graduate Student Workers Protest Grievances Against GSAS Administration"

Graduate student workers (GSW) rallied outside of the William D. Walsh Family Library on Sept. 17 to protest grievances against Fordham University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS). The grievance topics included issues with GSW health insurance, payment cycles and Graduate Student Council (GSC) officers’ compensation.

"GSAS Continues Discussions Regarding GSC Officer’s Pay"

Fordham University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) is currently undergoing discussions with Fordham’s Graduate Student Workers Union (FGSW) regarding compensation for the Graduate Student Council (GSC) president and vice president positions, according to Justin Bell, vice president of Marketing and Communications at Fordham.

"Fordham USG to Send a Letter to Congress About Trump's 'The One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act"

Fordham University’s United Student Government (USG) plans to send a letter to members of Congress next Monday, June 30, urging them to reject the H.R.1 bill titled  “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act.” The letter was authored by USG Executive President Lucas Hjertberg, FCRH ’26, and USG Executive Vice President Andrew McDonald, FCRH ’26.

"High Education Updates: Harvard Refuses to Comply with Trump Demands"

President Donald Trump and his administration continue to threaten the federal funding of a growing list of higher education institutions. So far, the Department of Education (DOE) has threatened to revoke over $12 billion in funding across seven universities.

"Fordham Professor has NEH Funding Revoked by Federal Government"

Fordham University professor Asif Siddiqi had his research funding revoked by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). This action comes amid the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) attempt to cancel hundreds of research grants across several federal agencies, including the NEH, National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Health (NIH) and more.

"Faculty Senate Passes Resolution to Protect Academic Freedom"

The Faculty Senate passed a resolution in a majority vote on March 28 arguing that Fordham University should affirm academic freedom. The resolution argues that Fordham should protect academic freedom because of its role in educating informed citizens, which is crucial to having a functioning democracy, according to a Faculty Senate member. 

"DOE Column #1: Updates on the Department of Education"

Since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, Americans have seen the United States Department of Education (DOE) take several actions against higher education institutions. The Trump administration has made significant changes to the department from within. Currently, it remains uncertain what the future holds for the DOE and institutions of higher education.

"Fordham Reacts to Trump's Immigration Policy"

Fordham University has released guidelines for engaging with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following President Trump’s executive actions regarding immigration enforcement and mass deportation. 

"Rodrigue's Coffee House Amends Constitution to Condemn William Rodrigue"

Rodrigue’s Coffee House, or Rod’s, a Fordham University establishment, recently updated its constitution to address some issues that had been brought up by club members. On Sunday, they held a club meeting to discuss and amend the constitution, which ended with a majority vote of “yes,” allowing the new constitution to move to the next steps of ratification.

"Board of Trustees Votes to Create Investment Initiative"

President Tania Tetlow sent an email on Oct. 4 announcing the new implementation of an Advisory Committee on Socially Responsible Investing at Fordham University. The committee, which will be composed of students, faculty members and alumni, was created to consider ethical issues and Jesuit Catholic values surrounding investments.

"Fordham Introduces FitzSimons Presidential Initiative"

In a time of immense political polarization and difficulties surrounding public discourse, Fordham University has implemented a new initiative to help promote respectful and productive dialogue on political and social issues.
